This is the Dallas Wind Symphony’s 2009–2010 Concert Series - a year of fun featuring the greatest windband anywhere! And you’ll enjoy it in the world-class Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
We make it our job to raise the roof, to surprise you, to make you laugh. All while performing some of the greatest music ever written, with a collection of the greatest band musicians ever assembled.
The Dallas Wind Symphony is a chance to make friends with other band fans. You’ll be amazed at the musical insights revealed when Dr. Carol Reynolds, professor of music history and hostess of Windnotes with Professor Carol, presents her extremely entertaining pre-concert run-down of everything you’re about to hear. Carol will introduce you to the music and the eclectic composers who create it.
Every DWS concert begins out in the lobby, with a world-premiere fanfare written just for us. It’s a show starter you won’t get anywhere else in the country.
Every concert starts with a rousing rendition of the National Anthem. From there, you’ll hear songs you know by heart, meet composers who will expand your horizons, and experience virtuoso soloists that will knock your socks off. You’ll listen to marches, symphonies, pops and premieres. And you’ll be wowed by the skill and enthusiasm of our musicians, filling one of the world’s great concert halls with their life’s passion. Hear us once and you will be amazed.
His business card says "Jerry Junkin, Artistic Director" but he's more like a tour guide, a comedian, a ringmaster and tent-revival preacher, all sharing the tuxedo of the country's greatest wind band conductor.
Maestro Junkin will be your host for an evening of fantastic, emotional, eclectic music that's sure to move you. Junkin and the DWS. You won't find a more magnetic music combination anywhere.

It’s a let-your-hair-down, relax-and-have-some-fun kind of series.
