Frequently Asked Questions
Can I audition for the Dallas Wind Symphony?

There are currently no openings in the DWS.  When there is an opening, we publish audition information on this website and also at local colleges and universities.  The audition process is very similar to auditioning for a professional symphony orchestra or one of the military bands.

How do I change my address on your mailing list?

If you receive our postcards in the mail, please notify us if you move.

You can either email our office or give us a call at 214-565-9463.  Thanks!

Can I submit my composition to the DWS for performance?

The Dallas Wind Symphony is committed to the development and performance of new wind literature. If you would like to have your piece potentially performed by the Dallas Wind Symphony, please submit your score (and a recent recording if available) to Dallas Wind Symphony World Headquarters:

Dallas Wind Symphony
P.O. Box 595026
Dallas, TX 75359-5026
USA

Please know that any materials submitted would not be able to be returned due to the potential volume of submissions. DWS programming is typically selected and scheduled more than a year in advance and is decided upon exclusively by DWS Music Director Jerry F. Junkin.

What is your seating arrangement?
Our seating arrangement in performance changes quite a bit depending on the requirements of the music, the stage and other factors. However, here is how we usually set up for our performances at the Meyerson:
