July 15th Deadline for 2006-2007 Fanfares! |
For the past six seasons, the Dallas Wind Symphony has a tradition of performing brass fanfares 15 minutes prior to curtain in the lobby of the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas, for each of its subscription concerts. Our patrons eagerly gather in the lobby to hear these fanfares that have become an important part of the whole concert going experience for our audience.
Please encourage your composers or composition students to compose or submit their unpublished fanfares to the address below postmarked by July 15th, 2006. Fanfares should be no longer than 3.0 minutes in length and instrumentation can include minimum percussion as deemed necessary. All composition titles will be credited in the DWS printed program with the composer’s name. Seven fanfares will be selected by committee and will be conducted by DWS Associate Conductor, David T. Kehler. Submissions must be postmarked by July 15th, 2006. - 6 Trumpet
- 5 Horn
- 3 Trombone
- 2 Euphonium
- 2 Tuba
- Minimum percussion: also not to exceed one mallet player and three timpani)
