The Texas Saxophone Quartet was formed in 1983 with the goal of performing chamber music at the highest level while introducing new audiences to the classical side of the saxophone.
We perform a diverse repertoire ranging from baroque transcriptions and classical literature to jazz, ragtime and popular favorites. More than just a performing ensemble, the group actively seeks to commission new works to add to its unique library and to the libraries of saxophone ensembles worldwide. The quartet has performed on Dallas public radio and cable television, and also as a feature attraction at music conventions in Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Washington, D.C. The quartet's 1990 CD release, "Our First Nowell," has been enormously successful and continues to receive airplay in the Metroplex area during the holiday season. The TSQ has been featured with the United States Navy Band, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Wind Symphony, the Plano Chamber Orchestra and the Carrollton Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble also presents recitals at local universities such as Southern Methodist University |
